Whether you’re trying to keep your home in showing condition, or simply wanting to freshen up for the Spring season, I have a treat for you today. Subscribe to my email list and you can have access to my free download: Indoor Spring Cleaning Checklist to make your spring cleaning task easy peasy this year. Because, let’s be honest, we all need things to be a little easier this year.
When it comes to seasonal cleaning, it is easy to become overwhelmed. Especially if you have tasks that you put off seasonally, or maybe for a much longer time. With my Indoor Spring Cleaning Checklist, I hope to ease some of the overwhelm you may be feeling. Not overwhelmed? Even better! You can breeze through the checklist with your sanity intact.
Here are some tips for tackling your indoor Spring cleaning.
- Stay inside: notice the checklist is named indoor Spring Cleaning Checklist. We will tackle the outdoors, but not today. Breaking your tasks into indoor and outdoor categories will help you not only complete the tasks, but do so in a less overwhelming manner.
- Plan your cleaning: Do you ever get cleaning ADD? You start picking up your living area and suddenly you are sorting laundry and looking at old photos? Planning out your cleaning days and time will help you stay focused and on track. Simply look at the checklist and your schedule, and decide what tasks you can complete and when. Its totally okay if you can do it all in one day, or even one weekend. Breaking the checklist up to meet your needs will help you make sure you can get it done, and that’s what matters most.
- Enlist help: If you have kids or a significant other living with you, get them to help. Assign each person an allotted number of appropriate tasks, and let them do it! I am really bad about not wanting help when it comes to cleaning and organizing. Don’t be like me. If a cleaning task gets done, it is done. It doesn’t matter how it gets accomplished!
- Reward yourself: After you’ve finished, allow yourself a break. One thing I love most about checklists is that it makes me feel like I have reached the end of a job. While there may be laundry to fold or dishes to wash, this isn’t about that! Simply focus on what you have accomplished and allow yourself to feel proud! Sit down, watch a show, have a drink, or take a nap! You deserve it.
Good luck on your Indoor Spring Cleaning adventures. Is there a task you look forward to or dread most?
